I listed some old favorites toward the end of my ‘Why Philosophy?’ interview, but I’ve been excited to see more of my favorite philosophers starting Substacks recently. Don’t miss:
Greco & Wansley — Daniel Greco has long struck me as one of the most deeply reasonable people around, and while I don’t otherwise know his co-author Matt Wansley, he seems off to a good start!
Daniel Muñoz is a rising star in normative ethics, and all-around great guy, so I’m excited to see him posting about philosophy, politics, and economics.
Victor Kumar has an eye for deeply important issues in practical ethics. After starting with The Left’s Intellectual Crisis and Climate Anti-Humanism, I look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.
Plus a couple more older substacks that I’m currently appreciating, but may still be less known by many readers:
Avram Hiller — don’t miss Monumental News, on our remarkable indifference to impartial value.
Andy Masley — see especially Using ChatGPT is not bad for the environment.
I’m sure I’m missing lots of other good ones. Comments (including self-nominations!) welcome: what new or lesser-known substacks do you expect other readers of Good Thoughts might appreciate?
Thanks so much for the shoutout!
Thanks for the recommendations! I just started a substack, and it might be of interest to your readers.
